DESCRIPTION:The month of October marked our 2nd Anniversary at Multnomah Whisk{e}y Library and we’d like to invite you\, our Members\, to join us in celebration!  We will be hosting a cocktail party Sunday\, November 22nd\, 5pm to 8 pm\, in honor of our anniversary\, as well as your continuous support. \nOur cocktail party will feature an opportunity to meet and mingle with local industry professions\, rare whisk{e}y tastings\, cocktails and some exciting new bites from our Chef. Everything in house will be offered a la carte\, with gifts abound from the Library. \nPart of the evening includes a welcome punch and “Meet Your Maker” with our friends and local Oregon barware curators\, Bull In China. Bull In China is comprised of three passionate individuals who are changing the game with innovated designs made by bartenders and for bartenders.  Every product in BIC’s line is proudly made by hand in Portland\, OR. \n\n\nYou will also have the opportunity to taste whisk{e}y from our MWL Private Collection presented by our Bar Manager\, Jordan Felix\, in addition to learning how to make an MWL Old Fashion from our Lead Bartender\, Michael Lorberbaum.\n\nAgain\, the evening starts at 5PM and ends at 8PM.  You are more than welcome to join us for part of it\, or all of it – along with one guest. \nPlease RSVP here and if you have any questions\, email Stephanie Lawty at stephanie@mwlpdx.com. \n\nWe look forward to celebrating with you on the 22th!\n  \n\n–Your friends at The Library​\n \n\n

DESCRIPTION:Good afternoon Members – \nThe Library is thrilled to have the opportunity of hosting the Owner and Director of Casa San Matias\, Carmen Alicia Villarreal Treviño\, on Wednesday\, November 18th\, for a very special Meet Your Maker in the Library’s Tasting Room. \nCarmen will walk us through her family’s spectacular lines of Casa San Matias tequilas\, produced at their 130-year old distillery\, including one very special surprise! Light bites will also be provided by our kitchen to complement the taste profiles of Casa San Matias. Following the lively round table discussion\, we welcome you to stay at the Library and spend time at our fireplace for an additional dram or two. \nWe are offering two one-hour sessions at 6PM or 7:30PM\, with only 7 seats per session\, so move quickly to get those seats reserved right away! \nCome celebrate 130 years of achievement from Casa San Matias with us! \nNovember 18th\, 2015 \nTwo Seatings: 6PM or 7:30PM \n$45/Members\, $55/Non-Members \nWe look forward to seeing you on the 18th! \n      — Your Friends at the Library \n*************************** \nCarmen Alicia Villareal Trevino \nCarmen Alicia Villarreal Treviño is the Director of Casa San Matías\, based in Los Altos de Jalisco. She has been on the Board of Directors of both the Tequila Chamber of Commerce and the Jalisco Industrial Chamber of Commerce. She is the only woman holding a leadership position in the tequila industry and her company is the only one that is 100% Mexican. Ms.Villarreal earned a degree in marketing at the Technological Institute of Advanced Studies in the West\, ITESO\, as well as a Masters in Business Management from the IPADE Business School. \nMs. Villarreal is a woman with a high sense of humanity and she belongs to several institutions that serve the community such as the SECURA\, which supports people who have had a great loss\, either in the death of a loved one\, job\, divorce or serious disease like cancer. She also supports ACORTAR DISTANCIA which is an institution dedicated to helping homeless children in the most marginalized inner-city neighborhoods. Additionally\, Villareal helps support Asociación Tepeyac which is dedicated to support immigrants in New York City.
