The goal is to uplift Asian American Pacific Islander food and wine businesses\, promote diversity\, and educate the public regarding non-traditional food and wine pairings. \nABOUT SIBEIHO® AND KOLECTIVO\nHolly and Pat first introduced Singapore’s multi-cultural cuisine to Portland when they began hosting farm-to-table private supper clubs in 2019. Their crowd-favorite Sambals inspired the opening of their retail store and online shop in November 2020. They first launched with three signature ready-to-enjoy Sambal chili sauces – Boomz Sambal\, OMG! Sambal® and AF Chili Chunka Sambal. Made in small batches using all-natural\, local whenever possible\, ingredients following a family recipe\, Sibeiho Sambals are a versatile way to add bold umami flavor to everyday meals either as a condiment or as an ingredient in many different types of recipes. To date\, Sibeiho has won three* Good Food Awards in recognition for craftsmanship\, flavor and commitment to social and environmental responsibility. Find Sibeiho Sambals in select specialty stores and at the Sibeiho Retail Shop at 740 NW 23rd Ave in Portland\, Oregon.Learn more at Sibeiho.com and @sibeihosibeiho. \n\nKolectivo is an event space\, kitchen\, and community hub that is the continuation of a story of friends who found each other through similar but separate paths. The landmark Double Double 37 is a rare blended malt finished in Oloroso sherry casks that once held Aultmore single malt whisky from the region of Speyside.  \n  \nInnovation comes in many forms\, and in 2019 Dewar’s Master Blender\, Stephanie Macleod\, released a new range of Blended Scotch Whiskies with a Four Stage Aging Process. The Double Double Series has been aged\, blended together\, aged again\, then finished in sherry casks for the Ultimate Smoothness. This may sound indulgent\, but since being released\, the series has been picking up gold medals all over the world. \n  \nWe are thrilled to share this special release with you & hope to see you there!  \n  \nPlease note this will be an intimate gathering in MWL’s tasting room – all seating is communal.

SUMMARY:Monkey 47 Gin Tasting
DESCRIPTION:MWL MEMBER EXCLUSIVE TASTINGS:\nMonkey 47\nDoing things by hand is a matter of honour\, which is why Monkey 47 contains only hand-picked ingredients.  A number of them\, including the peel of bitter oranges\, lemons and grapefruits\, have to be fresh off the fruit when added to the macerate prior to distillation.  This requires the helping hands of hard-working locals who are willing to report for duty at seven o’clock every morning.  Following meticulous sensory inspection\, each ingredient is distilled using well-honed artisanal techniques and the softest local spring water before being stored in traditional earthenware vessels for maturation.  The production process is complicated\, comprising a combination of maceration – that is steeping herbal ingredients in a mixture of highly rectified\, molasses-based ethyl alcohol and spring water – as well as distillation\, percolation and oxidation. \nMWL Members and their guests are invited to join us for a casual tasting of Monkey47 Gin with Retail Account Manager Janelle Fowler \nWalk-ins welcome and RSVP appreciated! \nAttendees must be accompanied by a member of Multnomah Whiskey Library.

SUMMARY:Study Hall: Peated Whiskey 101
DESCRIPTION:TWO SEATINGS\n1ST SEATING: 5:00 – 6:30\n2ND SEATING: 7:00 – 8:30 \n  \nFLIGHT FEATURING…\nArdnamurchan\nBenriach\nBowmore\nLaphroaig\nArdbeg\nBruichladdich \n  \nWe are pleased to announce the next installment of our Study Hall event series\, inviting guests to join us in the Library’s Tasting Room for an intimate\, in-depth guide to peated whisky. Featuring six different distilleries\, MWL Spirit Curator & Education Manager Brett Adams will dive into what peat is\, where it comes from\, and how it imparts its signature smokey flavor. Here’s a summary of the class from Brett Adams… \n  \nThe world of peated whisky can sometimes get painted with a broad brush. The admittedly polarizing flavor is often reduced to a line in the sand that you stand on one side of\, and this is a shame for both the whisky and the whisky drinker. The goal of this class is to shine some light on the broader spectrum of peat in scotch\, highlighting its use as one of many tools that distillers have to add complexity to their whisky. We’ll try a flight of whiskies that show how peat affects and is affected by different ages\, barrel finishes\, and textures. While this class isn’t guaranteed to convert any skeptics of smoke\, for those of us already convinced of peat’s purpose\, it will add depth and dimension to the way you appreciate it. \n  \nTickets include a welcome cocktail\, six pour flight\, light hors d’oeuvres\, and gratuity. Please note this will be an intimate hosted in the Tasting Room\, all seating will be communal.  \n  \nWe look forward to hosting you!
