As a reward the grateful King\, granted Colin of Kintail the right to use the 12-pointed Royal Stag as the Mackenzie clan crest. The distillery itself was established many years later in 1839 by entrepreneur Alexander Matheson\, who after 28 years decided it was time to pass the distillery onto new owners. Park Cognac Borderies\nLast year we debuted our Park 18yr Borderies Cognac\, brought to us straight from France. As the first spirit to inhabit this barrel\, it spent a full 18 years reaching maturity\, creating a beautiful and complex spirit which has since become an MWL favorite. \n2. McCarthy’s Single Malt Whiskey\nNext\, the good folks at Clear Creek took their 3yr McCarthy’s Oregon Single Malt Peated Whiskey and aged it for two months in our Park Cognac barrel. Each of only 300 bottles were then hand-labeled with the bottle and batch number! In over 24 years of production\, this is the first\nand only special bottling of McCarthy’s Single Malt in Oregon!  \n3. Widmer’s “Lost in Cognac” Beer\nFinally\, our friends at Widmer Brewing filled our cask with their Portland-made brown ale with fig\, lemon peel and cinnamon\, designed to perfectly compliment the sweetness of the\nPark Cognac\, and the peatiness of the McCarthy’s whiskey. This complex and\ndelicious ale is a perfect companion for such a unique whiskey! \nDaniel Ruiz\, Head Distiller at Clear Creek Distillery\, will be your tour guide as we taste through each stage of our barrel’s exciting life from start to finish. This Valentine’s\, we’ve teamed up with Bulleit Rye and Tanqueray 10 to explore both ends of the cocktail spectrum.  Are you a bourbon lover?
