SUMMARY:Mezcal Union Tasting
DESCRIPTION:MWL MEMBER EXCLUSIVE TASTINGS:\nMezcal union\nMezcal Union was born with the purpose of uniting.  From day one\, they’ve believed that unity is strength and the path to spark change.   To unite means to gather farmers\, producers\, mezcaleros\, and more people in Mexico and around the world.  This is why in 2008 they named their project “Union” with the purpose of sharing that message with every bottle.   They believe that as more people get to know mezcal\, they will generate more opportunities for the people that produce it. \nFrom the very beginning\, their purpose was to generate social development for Oaxacan local communities\, preserving the tradition of artisanal production of Mezcal.  Mezcal Union catalyzes collaboration amongst every person and community involved in the process of agave farming and mezcal production.  They aim to exalt the name of Mexico\, showing new ways to enjoy it\, exploring its cities\, streets and trying its food and drinks. \nMembers and their guests are invited to join us for a casual complimentary tasting of Herradura in the Member’s Lounge. \nFeatured Spirits: \nMezcal Union Uno \nMezcal Union El Viejo \nWalk-ins welcome and RSVP appreciated! \nMembers may bring up to three guests per tasting. \nAttendees must be accompanied by a member of Multnomah Whiskey Library.

SUMMARY:The Last Drop Break Even
DESCRIPTION:MWL MEMBER EXCLUSIVE TASTINGS:\nTHE LAST DROP no.28\n\n\n\n\nA BLEND OF KENTUCKY STRAIGHT BOURBON WHISKEYS\n\n\n\n\nIn 2008\, three pioneers of the spirits industry set out to create one last\, unique brand. Their goal was simple: to find and bottle the world’s finest and rarest spirits. By seeking out forgotten or hidden casks\, they discovered truly exceptional spirits and became The Last Drop Distillers. \nWhile The Last Drop offerings are precious\, they are also delicious. They deliver the kind of sensory experience to the eye\, the nose\, and the palate that comes only rarely. Each release is finite. It may be only a handful of bottles\, or in some cases just over a thousand\, but it will never be found again. Savor The Last Drop … before there is no more. \nFor their second signature blend\, they called upon Master Blender and Director of Quality for Sazerac Drew Mayville.  Using his decades of skill and experience\, and his matchless palate\, and a veritable treasure trove of vintage whiskeys from the Buffalo Trace Distillery\, Drew has created a unique and irreplaceable blend of Kentucky Straight Whiskeys including bourbons and straight ryes from the archives. He says “my aim was to use these exceptional whiskeys\, each magnificent in its own right\, to create a blend which is somehow greater than the sum of its parts.” \nMembers will have the opportunity to try The Last Drop no.28 at break even pricing and a chance to win a seat at our Weller Millenium Dinner on March 10\, 2025!  Available until we empty the bottle\, we will be offering half-pours of The Last Drop no.28 at $150 on a first-come first-served basis.  Participating members will then be automatically added to a raffle for a chance to win a seat at our Weller Millenium event.  Quantity is limited\, this offer is only valid for current members of Multnomah Whiskey Library\, one half-pour per member. \n\n\nWalk-ins welcome and RSVP appreciated!

SUMMARY:Maker's 46 Cocktail and Macaron Tasting
DESCRIPTION:MWL MEMBER EXCLUSIVE TASTINGS:\nMAKER’S 46 COCKTAIL AND MACARON\nABOUT MAKER’S MARK \nMaker’s Mark® began with one family’s quest to create a bourbon they enjoyed drinking and sharing with friends. As the world’s first premium bourbon\, it changed the industry in 1953. \nBill Samuels\, Sr.\, simply wanted a whisky he would enjoy drinking. Never bitter or sharp\, Maker’s Mark® is made with soft red winter wheat instead of the usual rye\, for a one-of-a-kind\, full-flavored bourbon that’s smooth and balanced.  Bill found his ideal mash bill in the kitchen\, cleverly testing mash bills through bread in order to quickly test recipes without distilling and aging. It’s the red winter wheat that imparts the front-of-palate sweetness that Maker’s® is known for. \nThe limestone shelf where the distillery is located is key to crafting the unique taste of Maker’s Mark® – the only distillery with its own water source and watershed. Kentucky limestone filters out iron from water\, which is unpleasant in bourbon. The pure calcium- and magnesium-rich water surrounding the distillery makes better drinking water and a better sour mash in which yeast can flourish. \nExplore Maker’s 46 with a gourmet twist – French Macarons. The pairing experience showcases the layered flavors of bourbon while highlighting the craftsmanship and premium quality of Maker’s Mark 46. Each of the macarons have been developed to mirror the aroma\, taste and finish of Maker’s Mark 46. \nMembers and their guests are invited to join us for a casual complimentary tasting experience of Maker’s Mark 46 and macarons in the Member’s Lounge. \nWalk-ins welcome and RSVP appreciated! \nMembers may bring up to three guests per tasting. \nAttendees must be accompanied by a member of Multnomah Whiskey Library.
