SUMMARY:Machetes Kitchen Takeover
DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to announce the next installment of our Kitchen Takeover series\, welcoming Chef Diego Palacios\, co-founder & owner of local pop-up Machetes. \n  \nThe Mexico City street-style food pop first began in the summer of 2023\, with a string of pop ups selling out all across the city. Run by husband-and-wife team Diego and McKenna Palacios\, Machetes is best known for its massive oblong quesadillas made with heirloom corn masa — their tie-dye appearance is reminiscent of a summer camp T-shirt. McKenna usually leads the masa shaping process before handing the uncooked tortillas to Diego to fill and grill. \n  \nThe duo are both industry vets\, with Diego currently presiding at OK Omens and McKenna at Indonesian restaurant Gado Gado. In October 2024 Machetes began their residency at OK Omens\, serving up antojitos\, ceviche\, handmade Choco Tacos\, and more every Sunday and Monday through the winter. MWL is honored to share their cuisine with you\, curating beverage pairings for each course.  \n  \nPlease note all food and beverages are pre-fixe\, we politely decline substitutions or alterations to the menu. Due to the seasonal changes the menu is subject to change. \n  \nAmuse Bouche\noyster on the half shell\, michelada mignonette\, cilantro oil \n  \n1st COURSE – Nixtamalized Beet Tartare\ncharred beet marinated en recado negro\, avocado mousse\, chorizo oil\, chile güeros  \n  \n2nd COURSE – Elote Tierno\ncharcoal roasted baby corn\, chicatana & chipotle aioli\, smoke chapulines\, cilantro oil  \n  \n 3rd COURSE – Chicharron Prensado\ntetela confit pork\, tomatillo tatemado\, cotija \n  \n 4TH COURSE – NY Strip Al Morita\ndry aged ny steak\, salsa al morita\, beef fat confit leek \n  \n5TH COURSE – Mexican Chocolate Semifredo\nchantilli\, blood orange marmalade\, marigold \n  \nTICKETS AVAILABLE FEBRUARY 5th at 6:00PM

SUMMARY:Weller Millennium Scholar Flight Night
DESCRIPTION:Tickets include a welcome cocktail\, 5 pour flight\, multi-course dinner\, & gratuity \n  \nTHE FLIGHT\nWeller CYPB\nWeller 12 year\nWeller Antique 107\nWeller Full Proof\nWeller Millennium \n  \nThe Library is thrilled to announce the next installment of our Scholar Flight Night\, serving a multi-course dinner with an incredibly unique bottle from Buffalo Trace distillery: Weller Millennium. \n  \nAs the third oldest operating distillery in the world\, with roots dating back to 1773\, Buffalo Trace Distillery (as it’s known today) has been honing its craft since Kentucky was a wild\, untamed frontier and the United States was just an idea. In the centuries that followed\, the Distillery changed hands numerous times\, but one thing always remained constant; it was a homeplace for the creation of authentic American whiskey. \n  \nAt the turn of the millennium\, the Distillery was amid a period of transformation once again and looked to its forebearers for inspiration. As a trailblazer in the industry\, the distillation team chose to pay homage to W.L. Weller by setting aside some of the first whiskeys distilled in the new millennium for the sole purpose of creating this extraordinary innovation. \n  \nA blend of vintage straight bourbon and wheat whiskeys distilled in 2000\, 2003\, 2005 and 2006\, Weller Millennium highlights the impact that wheat has on the whiskey’s flavor: the softness imparted by the wheat creates a smoother\, sweeter\, more approachable expression. By marrying these exceptional spirits together\, the whiskeys further harmonize with each other\, creating a cohesive\, balanced final product that is greater than the sum of its parts. \n  \nThis rare Bourbon will be accompanied by four additional pours from Weller: CYPB\, 12 year\, Antique 107\, and Full Proof. MWL Executive Chef Bill Wallender will be curating a pre-fixe\, multi-course dinner to pair with the flight. We will accommodate dietary restrictions to the best of our ability. \n  \nPlease email our events manager of any dietary restrictions by February 24th at events@mwlpdx.com. Please note any restrictions or seating preferences written in your ticket form are not recorded. We hope to see you there! \n  \nTICKETS AVAILABLE FEBRUARY 6th AT 6:00PM \n  \nMWL MEMBER TICKET: $500\nNON-MEMBER TICKET: $600\nMEMBERS MUST BE LOGGED INTO ACCOUNT TO RECEIVE DISCOUNT

SUMMARY:Mezcal and Rum Tasting
DESCRIPTION:MWL MEMBER EXCLUSIVE TASTINGS:\nMEZCAL AND RUM\nABOUT NETA \nNETA exclusively commercializes single-batch agave spirits from producers in Miahuatlán and almost entirely from the 110-person village of Logoche. When talking about “single batches” we are referring to lots produced from a single oven or harvest of agave. The process of crafting these batches begins with the harvest of mature en guía or capón plants\, often of various species or types of agave around the time of the full moon\, that are then cooked together in a conical earthen pit. The roasted agave hearts or piñas are then either separated and designated for multiple smaller batches\, or macerated and fermented together in their entirety to make a single batch. In accordance with traditional practices\, the spirits produced from different ovens are not blended\, homogenized\, or standardized to a particular ABV. Each production is unique and bottled at still-strength by members and family members of the co-op and the quantity produced is relative to the number of agave cooked in an oven and their respective yield. \nABOUT ALAMBIQUE SERRANO \nBrothers Isidoro\, Rommel\, William\, and Axel Krassel Peralta continue the work that their grandfather Max started in the 1930s. An immigrant who fled his home country of Germany at the start of WWI\, 16-year-old Max landed on the Gulf coast of Veracruz in 1917. \nWith no knowledge of Spanish\, Max began working any odd job that he could find. He eventually found himself in the mountainous Cañada region of Oaxaca\, where he met and married his wife. It wasn’t long before he began distilling aguardiente on a coffee farm (at that time it was common for the haciendas to distill their own cane). After learning the ropes\, Max set out on his own to begin distilling his own aguardiente\, using a still he designed and built himself. \nABOUT ISAUTIER \nDuring the reign of King Louis Philippe 1st of France\, Louis and Charles Isautier set out from mainland France and sailed across the oceans to move to Réunion Island. SUMMARY:Mezcal Yuku Savi Tasting
DESCRIPTION:MWL MEMBER EXCLUSIVE TASTINGS:\nMEZCAL YUKU SAVI\nLegend tells us that the hills are alive\, and their spirit is called Yuku Savi\, a force that can take the form of wind\, stones\, animals\, and even people. \nLike that spirit of the hills\, these bottles hold the essence of a living plant\, the agave. They carry the soul of their Mixtec homeland—its energy\, aromas\, flavors\, and the years of care that reflect the community’s dedication to their plants\, the hard work of their people\, and the love that they pour into this drink. It is a gift they share proudly\, to warm the hearts of those near and far. \nYuku Savi invites you on a journey to the Mixtec lands of Puebla\, a place where nature’s challenges are met with resilience\, and where mysticism and strength are woven into the land itself. \nMembers and their guests are invited to join us for a casual complimentary tasting of Mezcal Yuku Savi alongside small bites from the Multnomah Whiskey Library kitchen. \n\n\n\nMWL Member Walk-ins welcome and RSVP appreciated! \nMembers may bring up to three guests per tasting. \nAttendees must be accompanied by a member of Multnomah Whiskey Library.

SUMMARY:Clonakilty Tasting
DESCRIPTION:MWL MEMBER EXCLUSIVE TASTINGS:\nCLONAKILTY IRISH WHISKEY\nClonakilty\, on the south west tip of Ireland. An ancient\, rocky coastline of jagged headlands\, where 3\,000 miles of ocean finally collide with land. Where whales bask offshore and the weather’s so wild\, even the lighthouse keepers gave up.  Here\, the Scully family has been farming this same land for nine successive generations. Taking the considered view that Irish whiskey could be improved\, by harnessing natural elements in a unique and more sustainable way. So they set about doing just that. Sourcing a strain of heritage barley. Growing it themselves\, on land where the salty air\, soft rain and sea mist infuse every grain. Boring deep into the ancient rock formation to draw the purest\, clearest spring water. \nBuilding their own distillery\, to craft the very best of whiskies\, their own way. Using un-malted barley as well as malted. Lengthening the fermentation time\, giving their natural yeast the all the time it needs to enhance the flavour. Triple-distilling the whiskey\, for a lighter\, sweeter spirit. Adding the water slowly and incrementally in way they call ‘gentle cut’. Ageing the liquid in oak casks and exposing those casks to the Atlantic air. Letting the whiskey mature for as long as it takes – even if that means the angels take more than their normal share. \nIt’s a unique story; a whiskey that’s been carefully crafted every step of the way. An award-winning\, premium whiskey. Authentic. Full of character. Appreciated by connoisseurs\, enjoyed by everyone. Ask any of the team at Clonakilty how they did all this\, they’ll happily keep you talking for the day. Ask them why – they’ll simply say\, “It’s in our nature”. \nMembers and their guests are invited to join us for a casual complimentary tasting of Clonakilty Irish Whiskey accompanied by small bites from the Multnomah Whiskey Library kitchen will be provided. \n  \n\nComplimentary Tastes of the following will be provided \nClonakilty Galley Head \nClonakilty Single Batch \nClonakilty Single Pot Still \n\nMWL Member Walk-ins welcome and RSVP appreciated! \nMembers may bring up to three guests per tasting. \nAttendees must be accompanied by a member of Multnomah Whiskey Library.
