SUMMARY:Found North Tasting
DESCRIPTION:  \n\nMWL MEMBER EXCLUSIVE TASTINGS\nFOUND NORTH\nFound North is one of the few true blending houses in North America. \nEach batch of Found North whisky is a careful selection of casks blended to bring out the best and most distinctive qualities of the chosen whiskies. Every release is unique\, but each also builds on previous batches and fits into the unfolding saga of Found North. Their Batches (most recently Batch 012)\, for example\, are shaped around Canadian distillate aged for many years in refill oak before being introduced to custom new wood barrels as the last stage of maturation — an uncommon approach that yields the benefits of age without over-extraction. \nAt the center of blending is controlled exploration. Control over maturation\, oak influence\, texture and balance. Exploration of the whisky landscape and the way flavors evolve together over time. They are open-minded but also meticulous about every stage of the process because small decisions compound. \nEvery Found North release is bottled at cask strength with no additives or chill filtration. \n\nMembers and their guests are invited to join us for a casual complimentary tasting of Found North accompanied by small bites from the Multnomah Whisk{e}y Library kitchen \nWalk-ins welcome and RSVP appreciated! \nMembers may bring up to three guests per tasting. \nAttendees must be accompanied by a member of Multnomah Whiskey Library.

SUMMARY:Bagels Not Bourbon: Portland Literary Arts
DESCRIPTION:SEPTEMBER 11TH\, 2026\n9:00AM – 11:00AM\nAndrew Proctor\, Executive Director – Literary Arts\nAmy Donohue\, Design Principal – Bora Architecture & Interiors\nin conversation with Kimiko Matsuda\n  \nWe’re excited to welcome back BAGELS NOT BOURBON – where Portland comes to think out loud. Hosted by The Idea Factory in the Library\, this Friday morning series brings together creative thinkers\, civic leaders\, and cultural changemakers for honest conversations over coffee and bagels. No slides\, no scripts—just bold ideas and the people building what’s next for Portland. Next up in the 2026 line up: \n  \nThe Places That Make Portland\nHow Cultural Anchors\, Gathering Spaces\, and Participation Shape a City\n\nJoin Kimiko Matsuda\, Andrew Proctor\, and Amy Donohue for a look at the role arts and culture play in Portland’s future—and the places that give a city its character. \n  \nFor more than fifteen years\, Andrew has helped grow Literary Arts into one of Portland’s defining cultural anchors—a home for writers\, readers\, and ideas. Amy\, a longtime Literary Arts board leader and Design Principal at Bora Architecture & Interiors\, brings a placemaking perspective to that evolution showing us how the spaces we create can shape the way we gather and belong. \nThat thinking comes together in Literary Arts’ new headquarters and bookstore\, created not simply as a home for the organization\, but as a place for Portland to gather. From intimate events with world-class authors to Portland Book Festival\, we’ll look at what happens when people participate in the cultural life of their city—and how that impact can reach far beyond one place. \nExpect a conversation about how cultural institutions help move a city forward\, why artsand culture are essential civic infrastructure\, and what they contribute to making Portland a city worth choosing. \n  \nWe hope you will join us. \nTickets include admission to the event as well as a spread of fresh fruit\, bagels & accompaniments\, coffee\, tea and juice.

SUMMARY:Masquerade Ball
DESCRIPTION:TICKETS INCLUDE \na champagne toast\, specialty cocktails\, a spread of fine hors d’oeuvres\, & entertainment \n  \nThe Library is thrilled to announce the return of our Masquerade Ball\, our annual anniversary celebration in conjunction with All Hallow’s Eve.  \n  \nInspired by the decadent Venetian Carnivals of the 16th century\, we welcome guests to don a mask\, retrieve your hoop skirts\, and join us in the Library transformed. The evening will be filled with fine hors d’oeuvres\, champagne and hand crafted cocktails\, featuring selections from Edrington (The Macallan\, Highland Park\, Glenrothes\, and more). \n  \nAll three of our spaces – the Library\, the Members Lounge\, and The Green Room – will be in play for this event. Guests will be treated to live entertainment\, including aerial performers\, close-up magic tricks\, and and a DJ set sure to inspire a full dance card. We will be raffling off  three special prizes\, which includes a complimentary one year membership to MWL!  \n  \nIn addition\, we will be adding a costume contest to this year’s festivities (finally)! We will select 3 winners\, who will each receive a gift card (3rd place = $50\, 2nd place = $100\, 1st place = $200). We hope to see you there! \n  \n*We politely decline all reservation requests on this date as this event will replace our standard service in these spaces.   \n  \nTICKETS AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 22
