SUMMARY:Bruichladdich Meet Your Maker
DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to announce the next installment of our Meet Your Maker series\, welcoming Bruichladdich Ambassador & Isaly native\, Frazer Matthew.  \n  \nPrimarily known for single malt Scotch\, Bruichladdich was originally established in 1881 on the Rhinns of Islay in Scotland. Resurrected in 2001\, Bruichladdich has been a trailblazer in the world of distillation\, becoming one of the only certified B Corp distilleries in the world in 2020.  \n  \nIn honor of their 25th anniversary\, they have released the third bottling of Yellow Submarine\, a revival of one of Bruichladdich’s most iconic\, cult favorites. This is the first time Yellow Submarine has been released in the states\, and has already sold out across the country\, with only 6 bottles coming to the state of Oregon. Bottled at 14 years and 54.2% ABV\, this unpeated single malt is distilled from 100% Scottish barely and matured entirely on Islay in a recipe of 75% first fill bourbon barrels and 25% first & second fill French red wine casks. \n  \nWe are honored to share this exclusive release with you\, and to celebrate\, we will be offering Bruichladdich 30 year for a nearly break even price of $55 per half pour. Raise a glass\, enjoy the drams\, and expect to hear some Beatles music. We hope to see you there! \n  \nTICKETS AVAILABLE JULY 22

SUMMARY:Bagels Not Bourbon: Portland Literary Arts
DESCRIPTION:SEPTEMBER 11TH\, 2026\n9:00AM – 11:00AM\nAndrew Proctor\, Executive Director – Literary Arts\nAmy Donohue\, Design Principal – Bora Architecture & Interiors\nin conversation with Kimiko Matsuda\n  \nWe’re excited to welcome back BAGELS NOT BOURBON – where Portland comes to think out loud. Hosted by The Idea Factory in the Library\, this Friday morning series brings together creative thinkers\, civic leaders\, and cultural changemakers for honest conversations over coffee and bagels. No slides\, no scripts—just bold ideas and the people building what’s next for Portland. Next up in the 2026 line up: \n  \nThe Places That Make Portland\nHow Cultural Anchors\, Gathering Spaces\, and Participation Shape a City\n\nJoin Kimiko Matsuda\, Andrew Proctor\, and Amy Donohue for a look at the role arts and culture play in Portland’s future—and the places that give a city its character. \n  \nFor more than fifteen years\, Andrew has helped grow Literary Arts into one of Portland’s defining cultural anchors—a home for writers\, readers\, and ideas. Amy\, a longtime Literary Arts board leader and Design Principal at Bora Architecture & Interiors\, brings a placemaking perspective to that evolution showing us how the spaces we create can shape the way we gather and belong. \nThat thinking comes together in Literary Arts’ new headquarters and bookstore\, created not simply as a home for the organization\, but as a place for Portland to gather. From intimate events with world-class authors to Portland Book Festival\, we’ll look at what happens when people participate in the cultural life of their city—and how that impact can reach far beyond one place. \nExpect a conversation about how cultural institutions help move a city forward\, why artsand culture are essential civic infrastructure\, and what they contribute to making Portland a city worth choosing. \n  \nWe hope you will join us. \nTickets include admission to the event as well as a spread of fresh fruit\, bagels & accompaniments\, coffee\, tea and juice.
