SUMMARY:Hendrick's Gin Tasting
DESCRIPTION:MWL MEMBER EXCLUSIVE TASTINGS:\nHENDRICK’S GIN\nHENDRICK’S GIN is created via an absurdly inefficient\, yet quite glorious process. In essence\, to make one gin\, they first create two. One on an old-fashioned pot still\, yielding a rich and intricate spirit. The other on a long-necked Carter Head\, producing a delicate\, more refined spirit. Each still is infused with an unusual symphony of 11 botanicals: chamomile\, elderflower\, juniper\, lemon peel\, orange peel\, caraway\, coriander\, cubeb berries\, angelica root\, yarrow root and orris root. The gins from the two stills are then married together and graced with curious yet marvelous infusions of Rose and Cucumber. \nThis odd method of making gin enables HENDRICK’S to taste light\, yet intriguingly complex. The result is a wondrously refreshing gin with a delightfully floral aroma\, elevating any gin cocktail and all occasions. \nMembers and their guests are invited to join us for a casual complimentary tasting of Suntory Whisky in the Member’s Lounge. \nWalk-ins welcome and RSVP appreciated! \nMembers may bring up to three guests per tasting. \nAttendees must be accompanied by a member of Multnomah Whiskey Library.

SUMMARY:Reykjavik Distillery Tasting
DESCRIPTION:MWL MEMBER EXCLUSIVE TASTINGS:\nREYKJAVIK DISTILLERY\nWITH SPECIAL GUEST MASTER DISTILLER SNORRI JONSSON \nEstablished in 2009 64°Reykjavik Distillery is the first Icelandic distillery of its kind. Its a family run\, independent micro-distillery. 64°Reykjavik spirits are handcrafted from Icelandic nature to your glass. The methods include: natural infusion\, small batch distillation and sustainability sourced\, locally harvested ingredients. Maybe this explains the mysterious depth of the flavours from 64°Reykjavik Distillery. \nSkál and hail to the elf.

SUMMARY:Watchpost and Westland Tasting
DESCRIPTION:MWL MEMBER EXCLUSIVE TASTINGS:\nWATCHPOST WHISKEY AND WESTLAND SINGLE MALT\nFor centuries\, a well-charted tradition in whiskey has established a covenant about how it is made. But there is another\, decidedly American\, tradition to uphold—to challenge accepted conventions with the conviction that there is always more to be discovered. \n\nWestland believes that the world of whiskey is not flat and that it is time to step beyond what we have inherited. We find ourselves at the edge of a new frontier\, but the edge is not the end of what we know\, it is just the beginning of what we have yet to explore. \nRooted in the Pacific Northwest and committed to crafting American Single Malt whiskey with intention\, Westland has always honored the landscape that has inspired their whiskeys. Now\, with the launch of their newest brand\, Watchpost Whiskey\, they are taking that commitment a step further with a blended whiskey that directly supports the trails that connect us to the land\, donating back to Washington Trails Association.  \n\nMembers and their guests are invited to join us for a casual complimentary tasting of Watchpost and Westland Whiskies with Remy Cointreau Market Manager\, Lana Lauriano. \n\n\n\nWalk-ins welcome and RSVP appreciated! \nMembers may bring up to three guests per tasting. \nAttendees must be accompanied by a member of Multnomah Whiskey Library.

SUMMARY:Bagels and BUBBLES Not Bourbon
DESCRIPTION:APRIL 24TH\, 2026\n9:00AM – 11:00AM\nLOIS CHO\nANDREW DAVIS\nJEANNE FELDKAMP\n$35 \nWe’re excited to welcome back BAGELS NOT BOURBON – where Portland comes to think out loud. Hosted by The Idea Factory in the Library\, this Friday morning series brings together creative thinkers\, civic leaders\, and cultural changemakers for honest conversations over coffee and bagels. No slides\, no scripts—just bold ideas and the people building what’s next for Portland. Next up in the 2026 line up: \n  \nLois Cho\, Co-Founder – CHO Wines \nAndrew Davis\, Founder – Radiant Sparkling Wine Company \nJeanne Feldkamp\, Co-Founder – Corollary Wines / Method Oregon \nMethod\, Momentum & the Making of a Region\nHow Oregon Sparkling Wine is Connecting Rural Craft\, Urban Culture\, and the Future of the Willamette Valley \n  \nJoin Kimiko Matsuda in conversation with Lois Cho\, Andrew Davis\, and Jeanne Feldkamp as we explore how traditional method sparkling wine is helping shape a new chapter for Oregon wine—one rooted in innovation\, place\, and a broader vision for who gets invited into the story. \nAt the center of this conversation is a powerful question: What happens when a rural agricultural product becomes a cultural movement? In the Willamette Valley\, a new generation of sparkling wine leaders is proving that excellence in the vineyard can be\nmatched by fresh thinking in branding\, collaboration\, and audience-building. Traditional method sparkling production in Oregon has grown rapidly\, with Method Oregon describing a fast-growing group of producers making wines “among the best in the world\,” and positioning the category as a distinct statewide collaboration. \nLois Cho brings a new language—and a new audience—to Oregon wine. As CEO of CHO Wines\, she leads content\, events\, and storytelling for a winery known for traditional method sparkling and Pinot Noir\, while also founding AAPI Food & Wine to create spaceswhere more people feel seen and welcomed in wine culture. \nAndrew Davis helped remove one of the biggest barriers to entry in sparkling wine production by launching Radiant Sparkling Wine Company\, a custom-crush operation built specifically to support traditional method sparkling producers in the Willamette Valley.  Radiant’s specialized equipment and technical expertise helped more wineries enter the category and expand Oregon’s sparkling movement. \nJeanne Feldkamp has helped define the category from both the producer and movement-building side. Through Corollary Wines and the collaborative effort Method Oregon\, she is working to establish Oregon as a premier destination for traditional method sparkling wine\, elevating the region alongside more established global sparkling identities. \nTogether\, we’ll talk about how marketing\, craftsmanship\, and regional identity work together; how urban audiences and rural producers can strengthen one another; and why the future of Oregon wine may be as much about storytelling and belonging as it is about terroir. \nExpect reflections on innovation\, access\, cultural relevance\, and the civic opportunity of putting Oregon sparkling on the map. \nWe hope you will join us. \nTickets include admission to the event as well as a spread of fresh fruit\, bagels & accompaniments\, coffee\, tea\, juice and a splash of bubbles to brighten your morning. \n

Donate by bidding on the horse of your choosing\, and win prizes for being one of the first three to cross the finish line. 100% of auction proceeds will go towards the Retired Racehorse Project! Prizes include event tickets\, exclusive single barrels\, gift cards\, and a 1 year membership to MWL! \n  \nIt wouldn’t be a derby party without a celebration of fun spring fashion. For our members who like to dress for the occasion\, we will be nominating guests for Best Derby Hat! Big\, bright\, tiny\, or tasseled\, we hope to see y’all pony up this year for the best party yet. \n  \nWe hope to see you there!
