Day of Service with Friends of Trees

Friends of Trees (FOT) is a local non-profit taking action against climate change through natural restoration and planting. They have planted more the 870,000 trees and native shrubs across six counties and two states, engaging community members for over 30 years. “Whether it’s growing the urban canopy through planting street and yard trees, or restoring sensitive natural areas through planting native trees and shrubs, there is no doubt that the trees planted by Friends of Trees play a vital role our region’s livability.”

In support of their cause, the Library and Noble Oak are thrilled to invite our members to join us at the Columbia Slough Natural Area Stewardship in Northeast Portland. To help maintain the natural environment, we will be mulching hundreds of native trees and shrubs planted earlier this Winter, followed by weeding invasive species.

To celebrate a hard day’s work, we invite all our volunteers to join us back at The Green Room for a cocktail hour provided by Noble Oak to enjoy one complimentary cocktail and light hors d’oeuvres. You can follow along with Noble Oak’s mission to plant a tree for every bottle sold by following the link here!

Additional information will be provided to volunteers 1 week before hand.

We can’t wait to volunteer with you!
