Matthew Hofmann developed a fascination with flavor early on in life, eventually making his hobby of enjoying great food and beverages into a successful career. While studying economics at the University of Washington, Matthew first experimented with distilling, continuing on to obtain his post-graduate degree in distillation from the Heriot-Watt university in Edinburgh, Scotland. Back in Seattle, Matthew has since developed a strong line of American Single Malt Whiskeys with a focus on green initiatives, making Westland a prominent and memorable name for the United States, as well as the rest of the world.

Matthew will be here to share with us several whiskeys from Westland’s portfolio, celebrating the launch of and including their new Oregon Oak! Be among the first in the country to taste this unique new expression, aged in oak sourced from right here in our home state! Light bites will also be provided by our kitchen.  Following the tasting and lively round table discussion, we welcome you to stay at the Library and spend time at our fireplace for an additional dram or two.
